YELLOW FEVER

Yellow fever is caused by an arbo-virus and bite of culicine mosquito . it affects primarily monkey and it is transmitted to man

INCIDENCE

1.      Forest workers are very prone to get the disease

2.      It affects all ages

3.      After suffering patient get lifetime immunity

CLINICAL FEATURES

1.      The sudden onset is fever

2.      Headache

3.      Vomiting , nausea

4.      Tachycardia in severe cases

5.      Jaundice

6.      Hypotension

DIAGNOSIS

1.      Virus of yellow fever isolated in blood

2.      Urine analysis

3.      Physical examination

4.      Liver biopsy

TREATMENT

1.      Symptomatic treatment is applied

2.      Analgesics

3.      Antipyretic to reduce fever

PREVENTION

1.      Control mosquito breading

2.      Use of mosquito net

3.      Storage of water should be cleaned frequently
