ETIOLOGY

CLINICAL FEATURES

1.      The onset is sudden

2.      The severity various from mild to sever

3.      There is persistant vomiting

4.      Dehydration

5.      Loss of skin turgur and easy wrinkling of skin

6.      Sunken eyes

COMPLICATION

1.      Sever dehydration

2.      Bronchopneumonia

TREATMENT

1.      The patient is kept in worm and airy room

2.      If oral rehydration therapy fails to correct the rehydration intravenous fluids are given

3.      Antibiotics are given to control infection

NURSING CARE

1.      The bed of the patient should to made every day

2.      The hands should always washed well before handling food

3.      The vital parameters are recorded

4.      Features of dehydration are watched

5.      Any changes in vomiting are notice and recorded

Prevention of spread to others

1.      The patient is isolation from others

2.      Strict nursing care

3.      Utensils are disinfected properly
